Only straight lines are used in this composition, and it serves the purpose of new year card since it says ニューイヤー, “new year” in Japanese letters, katakana. Katakana is usually used for foreign words. The red dot represents a human head and it looks like a stick figure taking a pose. At the same time, the red circle are used to reorients the Sun in Japan and Japanese New Year holidays.
